BREEAM 5/93 for Industrial Units

There are two modules in Industrial Units assessments. The first module applies to all buildings and assesses issues such as building fabric, heating and lighting. The second covers operational issues.

The industrial units are awarded a rating of Fair, Good, Very Good or Excellent.

The Gateway Industrial Unit at Baglan Energy Park in Wales obtained a BREEAM rating of Excellent achieving 27 of the 31 credits. Here, the office accommodation has been positioned along the south façade of the building to make best use of natural daylight and solar heat gain, low-e glazing is used within the curtain walling system and photovoltaic modules provide sun shading to the façade.
